As someone who is familiar with Sepetys' work, I had high expectations going into this and it didn't disappoint. I've always appreciated how Sepetys is able to hone in on a moment in history and bring it to the surface. This particular moment is something I know little about so I was immediately intrigued by the backdrop of Communist Romania in the late 1980s. I'm curious to see how Cristian's role as an informer pans out and can't wait to read more!
