I have read all of Ruta Sepetys’ books, and I was so excited to get a sneak peek at her latest! Sepetys always does a good job of shedding light on often overlooked but important periods of history.
This story about a boy living in the late 1980s under a Communist regime in Romania is intriguing. Not only does he live in Communist Romania, but he is being forced to serve as an informer to the Communist leaders and spy on an American family. I don’t know anything at all about Romania in the 1980s, so I am eager to finish this book and learn more. These characters have already caught my attention!
