Ruta Sepetys is one my absolute favorite historical fictions authors. I have loved ALL of her books. A glimpse of I Must Betray You proves to be no different with an incredibly interesting but not well known subject and smart, brave characters who do things that they never thought they could, to survive. In this case, it is Cristian, a Romanian student living in the time of this Communist regime run by dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu who leads his people by keeping them isolated and afraid most of the time. Cristian is likeable character who ends up in being blackmailed by the police....seemingly leaving him with not too many choices. What will he do? How will he save himself and the country he loves? I can not wait to find out!!!! Thank you so much for considering me for an advanced copy of this book! My daughters and I would absolutely LOVE to read it!!
