I wasn't sure how I felt about Ruta Sepetys's "I Must Betray You" as I began reading. The editor's note and few pages before the actual text seemed a bit overkill. Still, I was intrigued enough to continue scrolling, and I'm glad I did. Sepetys's chapters are short as are her sentences and this leads to an overall sense for the reader of suspense, intrigue, and urgency. The pictures her words paint are vivid. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
