Romania, late 1980's, still a communist regime.
Cristian Florescu is pulled out of class and blackmailed by the Romanian Securitate agents into being a "spy" in the very community he lives, but most especially where his mom cleans apartments for two American diplomats. (I can't imagine being asked to do this as a teen-ager!) They also offer him medicine for his dying grandfather as a bonus for his services, of which he really has no choice. He is going to do it, but he thinks maybe somehow he can spy on them, too. . . . . .
This sounds outrageously intense - and it's based on reality!! This will be a page turner I will want to read.
