The first chapter makes you want to get into the story I found it was hard to follow the timeline. It reminded me of all of the old horror and slasher. I did like that the chapters were short which made it easy to continue reading until the end. I originally thought it would be similar to a good girls guide to murder, but was completely wrong with my first impression. The cover was similar in a way which made me have those expectations. I have not read much from this author but like the writing style. I also like how it didn't give the murderer away and by the end of the sample I was still guessing, wondering who it was. The world building was very good, it was easy to imagine me in the position of the patient and able to follow along easily. Overall not a bad start, but not the best book I've read although it may get better as the book goes on and the story becomes more developed.
