This book was cool! It hit all the beats for me. I will also avoid cornfields for the rest of my life.

When Alice's sister is murdered on Halloween night while at a friend's haunted corn maze, her life quickly falls apart. On the first day of the killer's trial, she meets a Sydney Prescott look-alike in the court bathroom and she's suddenly transported to that night one year ago. Her mission, save her sister and find out who the killer is.

I love a good time travel book, but pair that with horror movie references and gore and you got yourself a fan for life. I'm a huge horror movie fan and I was tickled pink when the author mentioned Asian horror because, let's all just collectively admit it, Asian horror is the best. Give me some Ringu and Battle Royale any day. That isn't to say we Americans don't make good horror. Scream was the movie that introduced me to slashers and I haven't looked back since. I digress...

I did guess the twist, but I was a bit late to the game; it didn't hit me until the last forty pages or so. This read like the first Scream book, right down to some scenes and lines, so you can see the inspiration. Oh, and that ending??!!! What was that?? Will we get another book? Can we? Please????

All in all, I absolutely loved it. Thank you to the publisher for the arc!
