Fun Fall Slasher
In How to Survive Your Murder, our main character Alice is the only witness to her sister's murder, but she gets a chance to go back and save her.
I am loving some of the recent YA slashers and this one is no exception. It feels as if as I reader I'm following Alice through a horror movie. There are some great slasher movie references and plenty of kills. It takes place on Halloween so that adds an extra creep factor.
This book is fast-paced and fun! I loved Alice as a character and there were some other great characters here as well. I flip-flopped back and forth about who I thought the killer was a few times. I did have it figured out fairly early, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment. The characters seemed real and even though I'm not a teen, I think they would be easily relatable for teen readers.
This is a perfect fall slasher read and it would make a great movie!
