Giving RL Stine mixed with James Patterson

Aside from the cover screaming "I have a unique and creepy story awaiting in my pages" the story itself in the first few chapters give way that there is more going on behind the scenes. Within the first few chapters I got an RL Stine feel. The author has a way of taking elements from fear street and incorporating them into a new story.
