I really enjoyed reading this excerpt from “How to Survive Your Murder.” As a reader who enjoys character-driven stories, I appreciated the detail and foundation each character was given thus far in the story. I also liked the references to modern pop culture and media, such as “TikTok” and current actors. I thought these elements of our modern-day culture were delivered efficiently and comprehensively.
My favorite part so far- the scene that gripped me the most- was Alice’s discovery of Chloe injured in the corn maze. With one description, the novel takes a turn from cute to gruesome. Everything just got real! I’m excited to keep going with this book and excited to see where it leads.
