How to Heal a Gryphon is a fun elementary/middle school read for people who love magical worlds and fantastical creatures. I can also imagine this would be a fun book to read aloud with younger kids, after all, you gotta love a story with a strong, magical heroine (Giada) on an incredible adventure saving her family against dark forces, while still experiencing the growing pains of adolescence (family expectations, strict teachers, annoying siblings, etc.). And there's cool animals as well! This story is rich in imagination and descriptions of the setting, the flavors of Positano, the superstitions, the magic, the rules governing these worlds, and the characters. The story itself was fairly straightforward - probably a bit more in the 3 star realm for me - but I do appreciate the different worlds we got to experience with Giada as a reader.

Many thanks for Bookish First and Inkyard Press for the early copy.
