I was absolutely hooked from the first paragraph. The writing is so descriptive, it feels like the reader is really observing the scenes as they happen. The writing is both readable and lyrical at the same time, almost romanticizing what surely was not a pleasant place to work or live. Looking forward to reading the rest!
