Like the best historical fiction, Robin Lloyd's forthcoming Hidden Cargo blends a fictional mystery with very real events that occurred in the months after the Civil War. I'm not a particular fan of maritime history, and passages describing the schooner, sailing vessels, rigging, etc. did not draw me in. However, the horrible discovery of dead bodies in the shipwreck and the mystery behind it are intriguing enough for me to keep reading!
