The book has an interesting premise and it seems like a good historical fiction about the mystery as to why there were dead black freedmen on the ships cargo. These people are free, yet they are found dead somehow. Makes me wonder if there's a more sinister reason or if it was simply an accident with stowaways. The cover wouldn't draw me in.
