Love the cover! It's one of the things that drew me in. The maps too.
Upon reading the first look, there is lots and lots of sailing terms the average non-sailor (like me) just don't know. I could look them up, but that would really slow down the story; which was already a little slow.
The captain of the USS Rebecca, Townsend, comes off as a jackass (to me). Perhaps that is what the author intended. And for us to learn more about why he seems to be "better" the others in his crew. There has to be a story there.
