Harare Voices and Beyond attempts to open the story with a tense, nailbiting scene, the courtroom of a murder trial, but ultimately it falls flat and doesn't improve. The dialogue in particular is unnecessarily drawn out, it seems like the author is literally recreating entire conversations as they would happen in person, which doesn't play well on the page.
