I could tell reading just from the synopsis that this book would be a heavy one. Both in terms of the subject matter and emotionally and I am especially careful with the stories I choose to read. Reading is one of the best ways to learn about other cultures and people’s experiences but I haven’t done well with heavy, emotional stories. They are too much for me.
