First off, I loved the cover and immediately was ready to love the book as well. However, the writing style did not fit the cover at all. It felt disjointed and confused. The mother, Doris, is described about five times in three pages, with none of the descriptions offering anything new about her character. I'm interested to read this book purely because I want to know why they murdered Julian, but I'm not confident we'll ever actually find out.
