This is not my favorite beginning to a story. While I did like the writing - it had a nice tone and structure, I did not enjoy the beginning of the story. I think this one just isn't for me. A mother and son are awaiting their trial conclusion in jail for the murder of a family member. I think there is an interesting story there, but I feel like it might be drawn out.
