I wasn't sure what to expect going into this one as I am just a small-town girl who didn't grow up anywhere near a big city so I didn't know if I would relate to this book. Florio gives the reader a well-written memoir about her experiences. I really felt like I was transported to Bank Street while reading this. This memoir contains so many emotions and I laughed, cringed, and even cried while reading it. Florio paints vivid pictures of both the setting and all the interesting characters contained within these pages. Some well-known and some only known to Bank Street. So even though I have never even been near New York, Greenwich Village, or Bank Street I feel like if I did ever visit there it would feel like coming to somewhere I have been before. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good memoir and a look into someone else's life and experiences.
