I found this memoir of life on Bank Street in New York to be fascinating in many parts. Not only is the author narrating for the other people that have lived in her area through time, but she is providing a snapshot of life at certain parts throughout time. The social and cultural flavors seeped into the writing to create something that is so different from anything that I have read before. I liked that the author is an active participant in her stories and that she has not been a bystander. She is an artist in her own right from a young age and has grown up into such a unique niche performance space with two parents that have also emerged from the stage as well. I wish that there would have been more conciseness in the time periods and that the writing would have been more linear instead of repetitive and monotonous in places, but I am glad that I had a chance to read this memoir. Thanks for the ARC, Bookish First.
