This book was ok. It was a great read for someone who is really into New York City and interested in the history of it and in what it is like to grow up in that environment. It was well written and you could feel the authors love of the city that she grew up in. The descriptions painted a beautiful picture of what it was and is like in Greenwich Village and the people who call it home. However, it was just not the type of book that I would pick up and dive right into and not be able to put down. It took me awhile to get through it and there were several times that I took a break from it and read another book. I love memoirs usually and love to "put myself in someone else's shoes" and to be able to imagine what it was like, but this one just didn't do it for me. Another note- the formatting of the e-book wasn't great so it distracted from being able to really read the book and immerse myself.
