This book is a memoir about New York City and growing up in Bank Street. The book covers some history and is basically an ode to Greenwich Village. It was an interesting read, and the author tells her stories in a pretty casual conversational way which made it for me more likable. I was not a fan of it being out of order chronologically but I do understand the train of thought just different times periods when telling recollection stories. It was interesting to read about her life in the and go through these memories with her. I think the author was very poetic at times and you can tell how big of a part this city has played in her life. I don’t read a lot of memoirs in general but this wasn’t too bad. The author does occasionally slow down which made me want to skim through some of her memories but overall this was an enjoyable book in a genre I’m not usually a fan of.
