Growing Up Bank Street has so many true character stories! I loved all the different people - from celebrities to street people to families. The timeline was also so intense - from day to day to the AIDS epidemic to 9/11 and how it affected everyone. Donna obviously took detailed notes and is a strong writer of a memoir.
Now, I live in CT so I am familiar with Greenwich Village, the city, etc so it was easy to me to imagine more of the settings. I do think it would help other readers if photos and maps, etc were included in this book.
All in all, a very memorable book of stories. I would imagine Donna has another book planned already. And if not, I think she should consider a sequel.
