Donna's writing and descriptions of her neighborhood seem to transport you back to the time she was living there. As a reader I could see, smell and hear the neighborhood itself as I was reading.
I am very picky about memoirs that I choose to read, and am not sure at this point how the story pans out and if it is something I would read all of the way through. But I appreciate her vivid storytelling from this First Look very much.
