The writing of this life story is very unique. It's blunt but also descriptive. Some of the things that the author remembers from her childhood, I'd rather have forgotten. However, it does make it more real to us(since it is). There were a few times when I thought, 'wow, can't believe he/she said that.' This memoir is definitely interesting but its not as gripping as I would like. I just think I'd get bored too easily while reading, so I'll pass on it.
