I was awaiting this book eagerly because I was a Bank Street denizen at one time in my life. I was hoping to learn more about the people who lived on the street, but the excerpt is more of a memoir about the childhood opera/ theatrical career of the author, Donna Florio. I still plan to buy the book, in the hope that it will get better as it goes on.
