The only constant in life is change. Take the life of a teenager, and the quantity and speed of change goes into hyperdrive. The main character in Going Places, Hudson Wheeler, is 17 years old and is facing his senior year of high school without the company of his two best friends.

Hudson persuades his mom to home school for his senior year. He still faces high school attendance for a couple of classes, and Hudson experiences love and loss with the new teens he meets.

In addition to his freedom, Hudson starts two businesses where he has the opportunity to meet even more people but of the senior citizen persuasion.

The format of the narrative is a combination of first person narrative, emails, and lists. It was an interesting way to develop the story, and Berla makes the varied format successful.

I received this book from Bookishfirst in exchange for an honest review.
