This is a great contemporary read. Contemporary is not ususally my genre of choice but every once and awhile I will get a hankering and this book scratched that itch.

Going Places follows the main character Hudson as he embarks on his last year of high school. However, Hudson forgoes normal classes for homeschooling so he can focus on his entrepreneurial endevors.

Along the way he meets a cast of characters including an alternative girl he falls for and a WWII vet. I found the character of the story to be compelling even when the story was not.

The novel started out slow for me. It took me time to get into ot but once I did I found myself really enjoying it. Hudson is a likeable narrator and the side characters really make the story.

The end was very satisfying and I would definitely recommend this book to others.
