I thought Going Places was going to be a great contemporary from the first look. And I really did enjoy reading it! Hudson was an interesting character. He knows that he doesn’t want to go to college but that he wants to write a graphic novel. I loved watching him throughout the story, he really grew up a lot in his different experiences.
I thought that the plot was a little slow at times, and I would wonder “is there really a point to this?” And “is anything actually going to happen soon?” I felt like there was a lot of build up to something that seemed pretty obvious to me as a reader. But overall I thought that Going Places was a decent read and one that I would recommend to others who like YA contemporary.
