Have you ever read a book so intentionally slow because you didn't want it to end? That was me with this book. Lora Beth Johnson has created this magical sci-fi universe with a whole new dialect for the characters and I was truly enthralled by it!
Andra is a teenager that's been cryogenically frozen for 1000 years, thinking she'd wake up with her family on a new planet and start life afresh. Sadly, that's not at all what happens. Enter Zhade, the guy that woke Andra up and thrust her into this new life. Andra has to navigate different dialects and new customs all while figuring out if she's this Goddess that this civilization has been waiting for.
This novel is amazingly structured. I literally DID NOT see that ending coming! And YES, OF COURSE, I translated the binary code ;) How cool! If you want to step out of our world for awhile (though, I did feel this might have been rooted in reality maybe just a bit...), I definitely recommend this story! It will really captivate you until the end...and yes, there is a cliffhanger. Boooo! Need the second book now, please :)
