I'm trying to branch out and read more syfy this year since it isn't really a genre I read a lot of.
We're introduced to Andromeda or Andra who is our protagonist. She was only supposed to be asleep for 100 years. Originally when she wakes up she's think that she overslept by 4 years, come to find out it's been 1000 years not 100. This raises so many questions. For starters why didn't anyone wake her up? And more importantly what happened to everyone else? She's thrown 1000 years into the future on a planet that she didn't even want to go to to begin with and the last conversation she had with her mother was over the fact that she didn't want to go to Holymyth. You can feel Andra's confusion when she first wakes up and interacts with Zhade. He can be a little hard to understand, but I think that's the point.
The first impression definitely caught my attention and I really want to read on!
