Gimmicky voice

I was interested in the premise of this book, but the author has taken a strange approach to try and craft a unique voice that just does not work for me. Andromeda's language is full of words with apostrophes added seemingly just because they can be: neural'implant, med'bot, etc. And the dialect of the future people she wakes up amongst is just...no: "She was too unconfident, too uncomfortistic in her own skin. Shrewd and calculating, certz. But too uncertz of herself. Easyish manipulated." The slang-style phrases and words are popped in but don't permeate the entire perspective of the applicable character, making it seem like a gimmick. The sentences written in, shall I say, plain old English? are great but the added gimmicks are too much for me.
