Andromeda (Andra) wakes up in a strange place after going into cryosleep on her home planet of Earth. On a futuristic Earth where tech is abundant and can be controlled with neuro-chips implanted in your brain. Expecting to wake 100 years after initial stasis only to find that she has overslept 1000 years.

Not only this but she finds herself with no one she knows on a planet that she doesn't know. They claim she is a Goddess who will save their planet.

Andromeda is a self-conscious teenager and doesn't know what her next move is. She cants stay alone out in the dessert so she follows the two men who have awakened her towards their city of Earensed where the Gods Dome is.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this book. Goddess in the Machine follows the story of a realistic teenager even though she comes from a world very different from ours. She is very relatable and I want to continue her journey with her to find out more about what has happened to her family.

The use of an evolved form of English is very inventive and I was glad that it was consistent enough to be able to understand it. I think this gives the story a new level and really brings you into the fact that she is far from home.
