I was totally sucked into this book from the first line. I'm not a huge sci-fi/fantasy reader but the premise struck me as very inventive. I found the characters interesting, both compelling and flawed. And there was was a good amount of both action and backstory. I can't wait to read the rest. I also liked the cover art - it's attention grabbing. :)
