Absolutely enthralling
From the first page, this book grabbed me and held my attention. Of all the colonists, why was Andra left in her cryochamber for over a thousand years? Were the previous two goddesses her mother and sister, and are they still alive? The way Andra processed the whole situation felt very authentic to me, though I wonder how she'll react to arriving at Eerensed, which I'm guessing is the site the colonists were supposed to arrive at.
I liked that the book also included Zhade's perspective. It's obvious that despite insisting that Andra is a goddess, he doesn't really believe it, and it seems like there's a lot he's keeping from her. I was especially curious about the magic wand he built that seemed to react badly with Andra's nanos.
And that leads into the world building. I always love the "advanced technology as magic" trope, and I was especially tickled that the robots were thought of as angels.
Overall, I'm very curious to find out what happens next for Andra and Zhade!
