Not for me, but well written.
First of all, thank you BookishFirst for the ARC in exchange for this honest review. This was the first book in a long time that I have had trouble getting through. While the book was well written, I did not know about there being previous books written about this family, which if I had read them would have made this book a little more understandable. The characters were not ones that I could relate to in any way, making it hard to really get into the book. Usually, I can completely get lost in a book, but not this time.
I get that the story is set in the 1700's, but I wish that Constance was not as sexualized. There were other characteristics that could have been highlighted rather than just hinted at.
There is a lot of history in this novel, which was nice but bordered on being explained a bit too much, making those parts hard to get through. I don't think I will be reading more by this author.
