Not For Me

I can tell by the short sample that this book definitely isn't for me. First, the writing has a removed feel, where it comes to you in such a way that you know you're being told the story, rather than experiencing the story.

More importantly, the content doesn't appeal to me at all. The first scene is told through the eyes of two children who sneak out to watch a sex party. The way it's presented is uncomfortable, detailed, and odd. Then, in the next scene, we see how the parents handle one of the children being caught. This feels stiff, emotionless, and, again, odd. I have no idea where the author is taking this story, but I do know I don't want to read it.
