I struggled so much reading this book, and wasn't sure I was going to finish it the entire time I was reading it. I didn’t like the characters, the story was incredibly blaaaaaaaaah, I never felt compelled to keep going, and the sex scenes were so bad they made me laugh. There really wasn't anything I liked about this book.
It's too long, poorly-paced and so so so boring. I felt like enough time was never spent with either character or perspective long enough to get a sense of who they are. Maybe this is why I found them to boaring. And despite the fact that the two timelines take place a millennium apart, the tone seemed to be virtually the same, like nothing had changed in the world between the two.
This book had so much potential, and I feel it fell really short. I am not even interested in reading the next book in the series.
