This is one of the best beginnings of a book I've read in a while. Right away, it starts off action-packed and interesting, and I found myself already invested in the story. I can't wait to read more!
The prologue starts off from the point-of-view of an 8-year-old boy, and I wasn't sure what it was he saw happening to the queen at first. I thought she was being killed, but it turned out she was giving birth. From there, all sorts of aspects of the worldbuilding are introduced, but not explained all the way, so there is plenty left for the reader to discover as the story continues.
I'm not sure if I like Eliana or Rielle more, but they are both interesting characters with compelling backstories.
