This book is about two protagonists whose stories align somehow even though they are separated by 1000 years. Rielle is a powerful queen that has developed elemental magical powers. Eliana is a super-hero-like bounty hunter that exists in the future. I like the grittiness of her job which enables her to call forth abilities that make her super human even though her job is on the sub-human level. It’s a paradox!
The preview only gives the reader a few pages to familiarize themselves with how the story will develop. Obviously the plot and characterization must be complicated and intricate for this to all tie out.
But, the first few pages had me as Rielle seemingly faces her demise first giving birth. When that doesn’t happen an evil angel appears to grapple with her over the newborn princess. A nightmare or a fairytale. I don’t know but I can’t wait to read more to find out!
