There have been many authors who have tried the whole past-present changing of point of views and a lot have left me feeling confused and overwhelmed. But the interconnection these characters have just over a few chapters wow! The author does a great job introducing the female leads. They seem like they would hate each other if they met to be honest because they're just so similar in so many aspects: their stubbornness, wickedness, power, etc. In some way I feel as though we are more introduced to the characters flaws rather than their amazing traits and that is what makes this book so different. I feel as though we are meant to dislike the characters because in some way they pose as villians in someone else's story and that makes this book all the more different...in a good way that is. If you can not relate to the characters then you will surely still feel passionate about their ultimate goals.
