This book is known for its fierce female leads and them not needing or taking anything from anyone, but for me, it was confusing and our female MC fell flat.
I had a hard time going from one story to another, even though they were related, it was really confusing and didn't really seem to work well.
One thing this author did in this book was leave one story on a cliff-hanger, you had an extremely long and boring chapter about the other character. I think the author wanted to draw you into one story, but forgot that she had another story going on. I can't focus on another timeline while there's a huge plot in the other timeline.
