What a fantastic way to open a series. I started this one solely based on the cover and I was not disappointed. Legrand takes the usual lost child trope and puts a new spin on it with a time travel component. The intro sets the stage perfectly, and is appropriately named An End, and a Beginning, as it ends up being the climax that both women's stories climb towards throughout the boom. The world building is especially wonderful in this one. I really love the in world quotes at the start of each chapter. They make the world so much more real. I'm really looking forward to the sequel.
I usually rate something down one star if it doesn't have main LGBT representation, but this story if so good I'm happy to give it 5 stars with just the secondary character representation.
