Any book with a strong female lead is going to drawn me in and earn it a place on my to-be-read shelf on goodreads, and this book certainly fit the bill.
The alternating point of view characters (and thus, also alternating across time), contributed greatly to the depth of each character and helped to keep the plot fresh and moving.
I would of liked to see a bit more world building, but the story line kept moving so it did work. Perhaps, since this is just the first book in a trilogy, the world will become further developed in later books.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is a general fan of fantasy (both YA and adult) or anyone who is into books with strong female characters regardless of the genre.
