I loved the writing style. This book was action-packed, and I fell in love with Rielle as she faces her trials. She is an amazingly strong character, and I love the magic system.
The two view points builds a complex story that dangles just enough information in front of me to keep me begging for more. I can’t wait to read the second book.
Even though we know Rielle turns bad from the beginning, I can’t help but absolutely adore her. Her relationship with Audric is so sweet, and I was constantly begging for more. It feels almost like a Romeo and Juliet story, where I know nothing will go right but I’m hoping so desperately it will anyway.
Legrand is amazing at weaving together magic, high stakes, romance, mystery, and plot twists to keep me constantly on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t get through this book fast enough, yet I never wanted it to end.
