This sample was long enough to give the reader a very good taste of what to expect in this novel. The characters are revealed to be strong, independent women, unafraid to use their powers to protect the people they love and the aspects of life they value. It also seems to build a very vivid world in which the two main women live, centuries apart. There is always a lot of action going on in both worlds and it may be fun to see the different reactions that come from the people living in different times. I have a feeling that there might be some internal struggles happening with both main characters regarding the use of their powers - good or evil?? I hope the full story is as addictive as this little piece of it was for me.
