The beginning pulls you into the unknown and drags you along for the ride. Through fits of rage and shock, the introduction to some of the main characters is breathtaking and leaves the reader's mind wandering and wanting more of them. Slight wording issues may stop you here and there, but once you get the hang of it, you're good to go for the rest of what Claire Legrand has in store. There is more to expect from this romance and set in early 19th century England, the setting plays well with the heart-wrenching decision the queen must make to keep those she loves safe. The characters are like none you have ever seen, heard, or read of in a novel. They are intricate and different, all with their own ideals and personalities that set them apart from one another.
