While I was unable to garner a complete view of the universe created in this book through this first look, I was able to decide that I loved what I saw through the small preview I was given! The prologue introduces readers to the story somewhere in the middle of it, before jumping to different places in time to meet our main characters: Rielle and Eliana. Both women have very different lifestyles, but share the fact that their personal backstories are quite gloomy and tragic. I was immediately interested in Rielle particularly, since it seemed like her character was the one who had a larger sense of mystery surrounding her. The rest of the story seems to hint at much exciting things to come for both characters, so I'm definitely excited to see what direction this story will take.
