Women are amazing creatures, with a seemingly endless spectrum of possible emotions and, of course, the ability to grow life. Real-world history is rife with the suppression of women in one way or another, and this truth is key to pulling the reader into this story heart and soul.

What if what was born of a woman had no human form? What if it was emotion incarnate, concentrated, and able to be loosed upon the world at that woman's whim? What strength she would have to have to contain such power, to moderate it, and use it judiciously. But, as so often happens with someone who is very different from the average citizen, such an extraordinary woman would be so isolated. All alone with indescribable, incomprehensible power. There's no telling what effect that would have on a person's mind.

Furyborn tells us two stories in one. Rielle chaffs against the strict limitations imposed on her every waking moment. She longs for freedom, control of her own life, and - the reader innately senses - will do just about anything to get it. Is she a villain or a misunderstood hero?

For Eliana, survival is the name of the game. She is supremely pleased with herself that she seems to have been blessed with unique, advanced skills that puts her head and shoulders above most everyone else. She puts those skills to constant use, delighting in her abilities - and taking every opportunity to show off. She knows she's using showing off as a means to avoid looking too closely at what her unique abilities may ultimately mean for her: a destiny she's not yet ready to face.

From the very first page, the reader is enthralled. This is an exciting, edge-of-your-seat read. The writing is so exquisite, the author has created vivid images that play through the reader's mind like their own personal film viewing. I cannot wait to read more!
